Cisco CCNA Live Rack Tutorial Video - Please Watch Before Using the Rack
Step 1
Please log into your rack account using the username and password sent to you after your registered with www.howtonetwork.net. Please allow up to 3 business days for your rack account to be set up.
Log into this site using the login page. You can then browse the timetables for the rack you wish to book. You have a choice of three basic racks, one advanced rack and one switching rack. The basic racks can be used for all routing, IPv6, NAT, access lists and most other features. They also feature a 2950 switch which you can use for basic VLAN configuration.
Step 2
Book some slots on the advanced racks once you have more confidence with routers and switches. You use the advanced rack for just about any CCNA or even CCNP level labs. You will need to use the advanced rack for most frame relay labs.
The switching rack can be used for more advanced VLAN labs and for trunking between switches.
Step 3
When your slot time arrives please log into your account and click on the 'Start Session' button.
A diagram of your rack will appear. Please click on the device you wish to configure. A HyperTerminal window will open allowing you to configure the device. Once you have finished with that router or switch, please click on the next device you wish to configure.
Please keep an eye on the timer while you are using the rack. It will reload 10 minutes before the end of your slot.
If you run out of credit please buy more credits via the Buy Slots button, which can only be seen once you are logged in.
If you get stuck and need support while logged in please speak to the online support team who will be happy to help.
